Programs
Hands on Horses
Our Hands on Horses program is a program to introduce you to the requirements of equine care. Participants experience grooming, care and light riding.
Riders without Horses
Our Riders Without Horses (RWH) program is perfect for those who are looking at horse ownership and want to get involved in Pony Club prior to taking the leap to committing to purchasing or leasing a horse.
We provide non-horse owners the opportunity to not only learn more about horses and horse riding, but make great fellow horsey friends – all willing to help you out in your new journey.
Both junior and senior membership levels are available for RWH members, but spots are limited each year to a maximum of 12 participants. They are filled on a merit and suitability basis (to match riders with horses). We maintain a wait list and if any spots become available, we’ll contact the next suitable child in line.
RWH members can participate in the program for a maximum of 12 months, before their spot must be made available to those kids patiently waiting for their turn. After the 12 months program has finished for your child, you’re welcome to join as a riding member if you have embarked on horse ownership or leasing, or remain involved as volunteers and supporting members.
Casual Come & Try Days are available if you’d like to see what pony club is all about (fee applies). To ensure our rider to horse ratio remains low, maximising riding time for participants, Come & Try spots are limited and must be pre-booked. Contact us to book in prior to a rally. You’re welcome to come and spectate as well.
Pony Club
If you have your own horse (whether owned, leased, or borrowed), then we’d love to welcome you as a Riding Member of Findon Pony Club. If you don’t have access to your own horse, please look at our Riders Without Horses program.
As a Riding Member you’ll be able to:-
- Attend our monthly rallies or social events
- Participate in PCV competitions, shows and other invited events
- Attend special events such as TPC camps
- Work your way through the Pony Club Certificate levels
- Hang out with a cool bunch of other horse loving people.
Adult Riders Club
Sick of the kids getting all the fun? We invite adult riders looking for a friendly, relaxed, and social horse riding club to join. You don’t have to have a kid as a normal pony club member – everyone is welcome!
If you have your own horse (whether owned, leased, or borrowed), then we’d love to welcome you as an Adult Social Riding Member of Findon Pony Club.
As an Adult Riding Member you’ll be able to:-
- Attend our social riding events, held on different days to our standard rallies (so pony club parents can attend)
- Participate in instructor led events (additional costs may apply)
- Participate in standard rallies with the senior riders when numbers and activities permit (small additional fee applies)
- Attend special events such as TPC camps
- Work your way through the Pony Club Certificate levels
- Hang out with a cool bunch of other horse loving people.
